Library & Study Centre

Every year 5,500 people visit our library which provides access to the media for the general public of Kamuli. If reading the news or looking for jobs, our librarian is always ready to help;  giving advice on CV writing or guiding visitors through our Resource Centre where they can find information on health, education, land rights and other topics of public interest.

Students use the Study Centre for homework and revision. In a region where lighting and desks are not found in most homes, the  Study Centre provides a place to learn  and to access a broad range of books. From accounting qualifications  to national exams, the books chosen are those on the Ugandan curriculum, used by schools and further education establishments.

The library and study centre are lit by solar power. Funding for this initiative was generously given by the Ugandan Community Library Association.

Future Plans

We have put in a funding proposal for the upgrade of the libary to meet the demand for resources for tertiary education, as well as to create an online library. The upgraded library will benefit students atttending the new university which has opened in nearby Busoga.

£5 could buy a school text book, and £10 would buy a University one.

Can you help our students study for their exams? Please donate now via JustGiving.
